Overview

This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to recognise potentially hazardous manual tasks, and then to prepare for and complete those tasks in a safe manner, appliable to all workers involved in manual handling tasks.

This course is specifically tailored for carers, nurses, aged care workers, and allied health professionals. This comprehensive training program is tailored to equip you with the essential skills and knowledge to perform manual handling tasks safely and effectively in a healthcare environment.

Upon successful completion, students receive a nationally recognised Statement of Attainment (SoA) for HLTWHS005 Conduct Manual Tasks Safely.

Course Delivery and Assessment

Students will be assessed by two assessment methods: Online Knowledge Questions, Direct Observation in a simulated workplace environment: Complete at least three (3) different manual tasks. Each participant must demonstrate skills and knowledge by recognising hazardous manual tasks and completing three (3) manual handling tasks safely and correctly.

4. Complete Your Workbook

Your Knowledge Assessment Workbook must be completed and submitted before your practical session. This is critical and musn't be forgotten.
