Overview
Insulin Administration is a practical, non-accredited workshop for workers who support people with disability or in aged care who need insulin as part of their diabetes management plan.
The course focuses on safe assistance under delegation and supervision — observation, documentation, and escalation — covering diabetes awareness, insulin types and methods, care plans, storage and handling, and risk management, so you can work confidently within your scope of practice.
This is non-accredited training. It does not authorise independent clinical decision-making and does not replace nursing responsibilities. Insulin support must always follow individual care plans, organisational policies, and clinical delegation. Upon successful completion, participants receive a Certificate of Attendance.
Course Delivery and Assessment
The workshop runs for approximately 2 hours face-to-face, combining theory with practical demonstrations, scenarios, and case-based learning drawn from disability and aged care settings.
Assessment is non-accredited and based on knowledge checks and active participation throughout the session, including scenario-based discussions around safe assistance, documentation, and escalation.
