Overview
Assist Medication Administration is a practical, non-accredited workshop designed for workers who support people with disability or in aged care and are required to help with medication under supervision and delegation.
The course focuses on safe day-to-day practices, legal and ethical responsibilities, accurate documentation, and recognising risks when assisting with medication in line with workplace policies, care plans, and support plans.
This is non-accredited training. It does not replace nationally recognised units and does not authorise independent medication administration. It complements workplace training and supports workers to stay within their scope of practice. Upon successful completion, participants receive a Certificate of Attendance.
Course Delivery and Assessment
The workshop runs for approximately 4 hours face-to-face, combining theory with practical demonstrations and case scenarios drawn from disability and aged care settings.
Assessment is non-accredited and based on knowledge checks and active participation throughout the session, including scenario-based discussions around safe assistance, documentation, and escalation.
