Overview
Seizure Management is a practical, non-accredited workshop that equips support workers with the knowledge and confidence to safely support people who experience seizures in disability and aged care settings.
The training focuses on recognising seizure presentations, responding calmly in the moment, keeping the person safe, providing post-seizure support, and documenting and escalating events — always in line with individual seizure management plans and organisational policies.
This is non-accredited training. It does not replace clinical training and does not authorise independent clinical decision-making. Upon successful completion, participants receive a Certificate of Attendance.
Course Delivery and Assessment
The workshop runs for approximately 2 hours face-to-face, combining theory with practical demonstrations, scenarios, and case studies drawn from SIL, respite, and community settings.
Assessment is non-accredited and based on knowledge checks and active participation throughout the session, including scenario-based discussions around recognition, response, recovery support, and escalation.
